Preparing for the New

With 2021 approaching, it’s time to reflect on and learn from the past and prepare for the new year.  These past two months have reinforced that the more intentional I am in preparation, the better my chances for motivation, follow through, and success.  As we ponder the start of a new year, may the following quotes spur us on in making the changes we need to make in what to add, what to hold on to, and what to eliminate in our lives.

Each of us is an Innkeeper who

decides if there is room for Jesus.

Today I choose to live with gratitude for the love that fills my heart, the peace that rests within my Spirit, and the voice of hope that says all things are possible.

Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready.

The key to

being happy

is knowing you have the power

to choose what to accept

and what to let go.

~ Dodinsky

To make a difference in someone’s life, you do not have to be brilliant, rich, beautiful, or perfect.  You just have to care.

“Now as a born-again believer, I’m driven by the gospel of Jesus Christ, so I don’t look for a black solution or a white solution or a blue solution.  I look for a God solution.”

“The greatest legacy one can pass on

to one’s children and grandchildren

is not money or material things

accumulated in life,

a really brave one,

about how you are going

to respond to life.”

“I don’t know what you’re trudging through right now, what you’re facing, what you’re waiting for but THIS I know - God is always right.  Our job is to trust him and not our own understanding and then to stand with hands raised and heart filled as God works in us, through us, around us, despite us.”

~ Lisa Appelo

“We can’t always

choose our circumstances,

but we can always choose

our response to them

and choose JOY.”

“The role of the church is to cultivate a people who can risk being peaceful in a violent world, risk being kind in a competitive society, risk being faithful in an age of cynicism, risk love when it may not be returned… because we have the confidence that in Christ we have been reborn into a new reality.”

~ Stanley Hauerwas

Nothing can dim

the LIGHT

that shines

from within.

~ Maya Angelou

“God doesn’t expect the impossible from us.  He wants us to expect the impossible from Him.”

~ Dwight L. Moody

“May we all test positive for hope this week.”

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
