The entrance to our
subdivision has been in the process of a makeover for the past few months. To begin with, all the grass, plants, and
trees were removed and the dirt was leveled.
Due to the rains, work was halted for a while. Soon the weeds began to grow and take over
the once cleared land. When work
resumed, the ground had to once again be cleaned up to be readied for the
upcoming makeover. These days it is
exciting to watch the progress as each new section is added.
Subdivision entries
aren’t the only things that benefit from a makeover. Especially during these busy days, it might
be good to remember:
* It is important to
have a plan and design and then follow it.
* Continually keep the
goal in mind.
* Sometimes you have to
remove the old to make room for the new.
* When not tended,
weeds/thoughts/actions or other debris can begin to take over.
* Even a little progress
can make a big difference.
* It takes time and
attention to detail to make changes and complete projects.
* Patience is a virtue.
* It helps to have the
right tools, supplies, and allotment of time.
* Makeovers are a
continual work; maintenance required.
Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is
here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
I
will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you
your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26
Whatever
you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human
masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a
reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24
Do
your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not
need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15
