GOOD PEOPLE

The world is full

of good people.

If you can’t find one,

BE ONE.

Last week, Teri Tidmore visited her mother in Austin, Texas.  On Friday, they went to Dollar Tree to shop.  In the process of loading and unloading her mother’s walker, Teri dropped her wallet.  By the time she realized it was missing, several hours had passed.  She began retracing their steps and ended up at Dollar Tree again.  In the meantime, Teri texted her friend Jill Young to let her know what had happened.  Jill replied back, “Father God you see it all!! Shine your light right now on that wallet and show Teri where it is!  We call on you the God who sees!!  Thank you now for your unveiling!!  In Jesus’ name!!” After reading the text, Teri got out of the car and thought to look in the trash cans that were in front of the store.  She noticed a man watching her.  When their eyes met, she knew he could help her, but he didn’t speak English.  Just then, a lady came out of Dollar Tree who could speak both Spanish and English.  She served as their interpreter.  When the man realized Teri was looking for her wallet, he said that he had found it and waited for two hours to see if someone would come back to claim it.  Everything was still in the wallet!  Teri was so excited that she gave the man all the cash she had.  She responded, “And what a wonderful reminder of GOOD PEOPLE in this world!!  TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!”

And there were several GOOD PEOPLE that day.

* Teri went from Houston to Austin to visit her mother and take her shopping.

* A friend reminded Teri of the importance of prayer and putting her faith and trust in the God who sees.

* A man gave two hours of his time, standing outside in hot temperatures, to make sure the wallet was returned to the rightful owner.

* A lady fluent in Spanish and English was willing to share her gifts of languages and time to help two people communicate.

* In gratitude for the man finding and returning her wallet, Teri shared her cash.

May we, too, choose to be GOOD PEOPLE this week.  And may God receive the glory!

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Philippians 2:3-4

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.

2 Thessalonians 1:11

Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.

Psalm 115:1
