Holy Week

 

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.  

Isaiah 53:5

 

PALM SUNDAY

Jesus’ “Triumphal Entry” into Jerusalem

 

MONDAY

Jesus cursed a fig tree

Jesus cleansed the Temple and drove out money changers

 

TUESDAY

Jesus debated religious leaders in the Temple

Taught disciples about end times on the Mount of Olives

 

WEDNESDAY

Judas agreed to betray Jesus

 

MAUNDY THURSDAY

Knowing he would be betrayed, denied, and crucified, Jesus served his disciples by washing their feet.

Shared Passover meal with His disciples

Prayed in Garden of Gethsemane, before being arrested

 

GOOD FRIDAY

Jesus endured trials

Condemned

Crucified on a cross

Placed in Joseph’s tomb

 

SILENT SATURDAY

Jesus’ body remained in the tomb

 

RESURRECTION SUNDAY

JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD!

HE IS ALIVE!

Made post-resurrection appearances

 

Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the price for our sins.  In response, may our words, thoughts, actions, attitudes, choices, deeds, and lives reflect our gratitude.

 

 

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

 

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
